After the critique today, I took notes about what was being said from other people's webpages. I was able to fix some of my boxes and learned that I need to but a bottom margin in the class boxes. This helped position my columns in a nicer order. We are working on these webpages more on Thursday and that is when I plan to add a navigation bar, and a picture, maybe two, and a contact information bar at the bottom of my page. Hopefully everything will turn out how I am picturing it to. I feel a little more confident with this project than I did in the beginning. I feel as if I am really understanding coding, but there is still so much more that I have to learn!

First Web Page Project 9-24-12
CSS style
HTML style
This is my first real webpage design. I had a hard time working with the different boxes, and organizing the content. I had another idea in mind but I was saved it over top of my original file, and so I lost that idea and had to start from a different point. The background of my webpage is a stack of books, to go along with the reading theme. I feel as if I should have used more boxes, and variation with the placement of my content (making the boxes go more left or more right). I feel as if this is a good start for me, because I am still not the best at coding, and I hope to improve with the next project and know more about coding to help me make a more successful webpage.

Class work 9-18-12
Above is my HTML page from our in-class assignment today, and below is my CSS page. We had the opportunity to play around with different types of fonts and learned how to incorporate them into the HTML files. I am still working on learning the order of the HTML code. If I can visually see it, I can pick out what goes where, just starting it always flusters me. Web Design is not one of my stronger areas in Graphic Design, at least in my opinion. I hope to improve and learn the basic knowledge of Web Design.

My first web page!
This is my final project. We learned in class how to use codes to make a web page and then we were told to design a web page about what we did this summer. I had a hard time grasping the concept of using coding but after awhile, I began to catch on. The one thing that was most frustrating to me was adding a photo. I tried to place the link into my web page but it did not work at first. After a couple of tries (and asking for help) I was able to fix the problem. I had forgotten to add one little detail (") at the end of my link, which threw off the whole code. After I added that back in, and refreshed my page, the image was visible. After class it felt like I had a huge headache. Hopefully I will be able to be more understand coding a little better next class. I find it interesting that web sites are made this way, before this class, I would not have even know how web pages were designed.
